Abondance is a self contained village just off the main road from Geneva up to Chatel in the Portes du Soleil ski region.
Its just 1 hour from Geneva International Airport. The French ski station of Abondance has its own ski area, whilst the main slopes on the circuit can be reached by bus or car, most easily near Chatel. Ski holidays in Abries are of the tailor made variety, as the location and limited skiing does not make it an ideal ski holiday destination as far as ski holiday companies in the UK are concerned (they prefer locations with a lot more bed space!).
The Chalet de Lanza is a local logis that is well reviewed and the Balcons du Viso Residence offers great spa facilities and an indoor swimming pool. Both these locations, and the nearby P'tite Auberge which although outside the village has a nearby shuttle to take guests to the ski resort.

Abtenau is not really covered by UK tour operators, and therefore trips to the village tend to be self organised by independent travellers.
Getting car hire from Saltzburg allows those looking to ski and snowboard in resorts around Abtenau and the Dachstein West area easy access to a wide range of slopes covering a wide variety of standards.

Achenkirch is not a resort serviced by many ski holiday companies, unlike some of its near neighbours.
However by getting a flight into airports such as Innsbruck, Munich and Saltzburg (all of which provide fast access, and using car hire from one on these airports those looking for a ski break or snowboarding holiday can not only access Achenkirch, but also the wider Wildschonau region.

The views from the slopes over the lakes are spectacular, and when the sun shines its one of those places that just make you glad to be alive!

Adelboden shares its 185 km of pistes with the next door resort of Lenk.
Adelboden's skiing and snowboarding is spread over five distinct areas being Elsigen, Tschentenalp, Silleran-Hahnenmoos Chuenisbargli, all of which are closer to Adelboden and Lenk-Betelberg, which is naturally reached from Lenk. Its a very pretty resort, not normally busy, and in sunny weather is one of the best places in the world to be!

Nightlife is at the quieter end of the spectrum.

Aime 2000 La Plagne
The majority of accommodation in Aime 2000 La Plagne are apartments and chalets, however there are a couple of hotels for visitors.
There is a good choice of restaurants in Aime including traditional french cuisine and pizzas. The Au Bon Vieux Temps is one of our favourites, situated outside the village itself on the piste and is a cosy mountain chalet with friendly service and a welcoming log fire There are plenty of bars that are particularly attractive to the younger visitors.

Allevard Les Bains
Allevard is a great resort in which to base yourself if you are looking to explore a few local ski resorts.
Around 12 km away is Le Collet d'Allevard, a pleasant resort good for families with ski facilities for small children. There is a shuttle service between Allevard and Le Collet.

There are a wide number of hotels in the area offering great choice and value. There are ongoing promotions for ski hotels in Allevard which are available on a regular basis through our partner.

Most tour operators offering Alpbach as a ski and snowboard destination use the range of hotels in the village for accommodation.

Calavese is a major centre to stay in when skiing both the Cavalese Dolomites and the Mount Cermis,
Accommodation is comfortable and Calavese itself is a very attractive place to stay. If you stay in Cavalese there are not only the ski slopes but also the regions culture and history. Nearby Bolzano has a fantastic 'Weihnachstmarkt' Christmas market in December.

Alpe d'Huez The ski resorts are spread over four different areas making it harder for those wishing to take advantage of restaurants or activities elsewhere, and most of the chalets are located in the Altiport complex which is quite a distance from the centre so a car is recommended to get around. There are a large amount of hotels in the village most of which are near to the lifts. There are a few chalets in the area but significantly less than hotels. More Info

Alpe di Siusi (Seiser Alm)
Alpe di Suisi is not offered by mainstream operators, but is ideal for those wanting to get a real 'Dolomite' experience, where you will rarely hear a British voice unless you venture further afield.
Its not a difficult place to get to, well situated close to the main Verona - Innsbruck motorway making both airports ideal to fly to and then pick up a hire car from. Do also consider Bologna, which is a further two hours away but offer a cheaper BA flight. There is also the Ryanair option via Milan Bergamo.

Arrange your holiday to Alt St Johann - its an easy journey from the airport and makes a great short break destination as well as for a week long holiday.
Fly into Zurich using BA, Swiss or a low cost airline, pick up a hire car or hop on a train (the station is in the St Johann village itself and book a hotel directly.

In Argentiere there is a wide choice of accommodation available to tourists at good prices. There are bus services to all the main ski areas, so skiers are able to visit more than just their local area.
Argentiere draws skiers and snowboarders throughout the winter season - who are attracted by the four snow-sure areas at high altitude which provide over 150km of marked pistes and lots of 'off-piste' opportunities from all skiers and snowboarders whether they are beginners, intermediates or experts / advanced.

Argentiere is home to the base of Telepherique du Lognon cable car up to Les Grands Montets (3,295m), known for the steep and technically challenging demanding slopes both on-piste and off-piste. Also nearby is the Vallee Blanche one of the worlds truly great runs.
